Chris Armstrong

Chris Armstrong studied painting and art history in Florence, Italy before receiving his BA from Bucknell University. After graduation, Chris went on to receive his MFA from NYU where he won the school’s MVP award and exhibited at Washington Square East Galleries. Chris’ work was recently selected for the U.S. State Department’s ‘Art in Embassies Exhibition’.

Chris’ dramatic waterscape paintings convey the essence of the sea – an unpredictable and changing nature, a reflective and illuminated beauty, and the ability to inspire a sense of vastness. Crossing from dark ominous blues and crashing waves to serene sunlit calm in soft tones, his paintings succeed in capturing the graceful movement and luminosity of water.

Chris was from Kent CT, and lived in Gloucester, MA.
