As a Painting and Fine Arts major at the University of Illinois, Robert Lenz exhibited oil and watercolor landscape and still life paintings throughout the Chicago area during the late fifties and early sixties. Upon graduation he migrated to New York and began a successful and award winning career as a Creative Director in the Advertising business. Thirty-five years later, in 1998, he returned to his first love, painting. In order to refresh and re-start his earlier ambition, he studied at the Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, CT., the Washington Art Association in Washington CT., the National Academy of Design and the Art Students’ League in New York City. Robert Lenz is living in South Kent, Connecticut and New York City, he is working full-time both inside and outside of his studio, and has resumed a prolific career as a painter and printmaker.
